A good friend is planning a new tattoo and wanted to include the word “forge” in gothic lettering. I used an ambigram builder to start the design and then refined in Illustrator.
I like the sweeping hammer feel happening in the F and e, and I think it overall has a nice flow. Ambigrams can get really messy and hard to read, but I think this one is pretty legible, or at least allows you the opening to tell the story, and that’s really the essential part.
