BLUE KABOOM (2013-current)

Blue Kaboom Web solutions is a small web design and SEO company specializing in online solutions for small to medium sized businesses.

 

Design Director

Responsible for the technical and visual direction of all produced websites and the management of information, deadlines and contractors. Design of electronic graphics for web and email marketing and the editing and layout of site pages. Coordination with WordPress and ExpressionEngine developers to create business websites. Creation of inbound marketing campaign materials to interface with HubSpot.

  • Integrated HubSpot inbound marketing strategies on some clients websites, including design of downloadable offers and promotional graphics.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

XAVIER UNIVERSITY (2009 – 2013)

Xavier University is a small, private college with strong programs in Business, Pre-Med, and Education, a nationally recognized basketball team, and notable alumni support.

 

Senior Graphic Designer

Designed printed collateral for various university departments. Coordinated with photographers, writers, and the client to ensure the most effective message and design. Worked with the e-marketing and web teams on projects that crossed from print to web and back.

  • Strengthened the university’s brand recognition through consistent and eye-catching print materials. Implemented the new brand and created files for it’s architecture.
  • Collaborated heavily in the full redesign of all undergraduate admissions materials, resulting in a 150% increase in enrollment.
  • Created and implemented a new online proofing process, which sped up the approval process considerably and enabled more collaboration on edits and revisions.

CINCINNATI ART MUSEUM (1999 – 2009)

The Cincinnati Art Museum is a public arts institution with a permanent collection ranging from contemporary to classic art and several special exhibitions each year.

 

Senior Graphic Designer

Designed brochures, advertising, direct mail, posters, and other collateral for museum programs and exhibitions. Administered the museum web site www.cincinnatiartmuseum.org, created and maintained the internal employee site (CAMEO) and designed sub-sites for the promotion of specific exhibitions and programs. Shot and edited video for podcasts and interactives; photographed events and installations. Managed in-house designers and freelance designers.

 

  • Initiated the e-newsletter program and social media presences on MySpace, FaceBook and Twitter and coordinated the content of each to increase the visibility of the museum and promote events.
  • Created graphic identities for approximately 95% of museum programs and events and lead two rebranding initiatives for the institution.
  • Redesigned the new Members Magazine and monthly events calendar mailers.
  • Managed production of the museum’s video and audio podcast launch to enhance exhibitions.

ART ACADEMY OF CINCINNATI (2002 – 2005)

The Art Academy of Cincinnati is a small, private art school located in downtown Cincinnati with fulltime, parttime, and non-credit programs.
